why should you see a shoulder specialist for your shoulder pain?

The shoulder is an incredibly complex joint, and as such, there are a number of potential causes of your pain and loss of function.
A skilled assessment of your shoulder via physical exam is the most optimal 1st step towards a care plan, which begins, in most cases with physical therapy. Though most orthopaedic surgeons regard the shoulder as part of their expertise--an even narrower focus on the shoulder, elbow, and hand can enable more exact treatment strategies, thereby eliminating delay in recovery.

When it comes to the most innovative surgical treatments for conditions such as shoulder arthritis, nerve entrapment or palsy about the shoulder and rotator cuff problems, the focused expertise of a shoulder specialist is critical. Further, when it comes to providing the highest quality of surgical care to the shoulder for these, and other problems, experience is equally as critical--quality and experience go hand in hand.

Dr Tomaino,

I'm so grateful that I found you! I felt completely satisfied with how my appointment went and with your knowledge and options with my care. I would urge anyone with a shoulder injury/pain to see you. I was being treated by another orthopedic surgeon locally and I felt as if he wasn't listening to me and I was just another patient, however, my appointment with you was like nothing I have experienced! From the moment I scheduled my appointment, checked in and even with a call to your office the next day, I was treated with dignity and respect and not "just another patient" Seeing you was definitely worth a 2 hour drive!! I will recommend you to everyone!!
Thanks again & see you soon!
